The Berlin techno titan comes to Tokyo

As one of the leading residents at world-famous techno institution Berghain, Ben Klock’s reputation as a DJ and producer is second to none. He had previously been a resident at another infamous Berlin nightspot (now sadly closed), Cookies, but it was at Berghain he forged his identity as a masterful standard bearer for full-bodied, undiluted techno. Now consistently touring the world over, his particular style combines forthright, forceful rhythms with subtle warm and funky touches that make his sets both cerebrally engaging and a whole lot of fun. It’s two years since Klock was last at Contact, or indeed in Japan at all, so anticipation will be high for the welcome return of one of Europe’s leading techno protagonists.

Warming up the Studio X Floor will be DJ Yazi. Yazi initially immersed himself in the hip hop world in the 90s via the avant-garde crew Think Tank, but once he joined the Black Smoker record label he broadened his approach as a DJ. Drawing the dots between all kinds of different styles while maintaining a thrust for the dancefloor, his broad spectrum of sound will give Klock the perfect launch pad into a full-throttle techno vortex.
