The diverse range of international and local house and techno talent showcased at Motorpool is the perfect match for the inclusive, polysexual crowd you’ll find getting down in the club. This month, on the Studio X floor resident DJ DSKE plays host to Matrixxman and DJ Nobu.
US-born producer Matrixxman has built up a formidable reputation since first emerging in 2012, presenting a distinctive take on the house music tradition on respected labels such as Dekmantel, Unknown To The Unknown and Spectral Sound. Chiba city’s DJ Nobu is one of the pillars of underground techno in Japan – his reputation as a fearlessly inventive DJ has reached international levels. These days, he is just as likely to be found shocking the dancefloor at Berghain in Berlin or leading European festivals Dekmantel and Sonar as he is playing in Japan.
The Contact floor is playing host to Punkadelix, an artist with a deep connection to Motorpool. Having recently released her debut EP Sneakpeek on MAYUDEPTH, she now celebrates the launch of a new three-track EP that features a remix from Akiko Kiyama. Kiyama will also appear on the night in support of Punkadelix and the record, performing one of her spellbinding live sets. You can expect stripped back, intriguing approaches to 4/4 dance music all night long.
MISTERGENTLEMAN will be collaborating again with MOTORPOOL on new items, as well as a midnight coffee stand.
