2020年5月25日、アメリカ・ミネソタ州で起きた白人警官によるGeorge Floyd氏の殺害事件を発端に世界へ広まった反人種差別の抗議活動。特に黒人への構造的人種差別に抗議するために #BlackLivesMatter という言葉を掲げた沢山のデモが続いています。また、プライド月間（注：アメリカをはじめ、世界各地でLGBT+の権利や文化、コミュニティーへの支持を示して様々なイベントが行われる）に当たる今月6月になってからアメリカでは2名の黒人トランスジェンダーが殺害された疑いがあります。

MOTORPOOLは、「最高の音楽のもとであらゆるジェンダーの人々が楽しめるパーティ」を目指して毎回企画しています。ブラック・ミュージックが無ければ存在すらしなかったであろう現代のダンスミュージックカルチャーを表現している私たちにとって、個人としてだけでなく、MOTORPOOLのチームとしてこの問題に対して何ができるのかを話し合った結果、パーティ会場でもあるContactの協力を得て募金箱を設置し、“Black Trans Femmes in the Arts” (https://www.instagram.com/btfacollective/ )という黒人のトランスジェンダーをサポートする団体へ寄付をしたく、皆様に募金のご協力をお願いすることに致しました。

オンラインで簡単に募金できる時代にはなりましたが、今回のような世界的な事件であってもまだまだ実情を知らない人もたくさんいるということを知り、改めて、クラブという場所が、現在起きている#BlackLivesMatter のムーブメントや“Black Trans Femmes in the Arts”等の募金団体の存在を知ってもらうきっかけになってくれたらと考えました。

コロナ対策を十分にとりながら営業を再開するContactの地下2階キャッシャー付近に募金箱を設置予定です。クラブには来られない方は是非オンラインで直接ドネーションのアクションを起こしていただけたら幸いです。何卒ご協力いただけますようよろしくお願い致します。

Worldwide protests against anti-racism have increased since the killing of George Floyd by a white police officer that occurred on 5/25/2020 in Minnesota, USA. Ongoing protests are being held with the message #BlackLivesMatter whose goals are to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to end violence inflicted on Black communities. Furthermore, there has been 2 confirmed killings of black transgender women in America this month during Pride Month (where communities around the globe gather for events to support the rights and equality for LGBT+ and its culture).

MOTORPOOL has always aimed to promote “a party that offers quality music where people of all genders can enjoy”. The current dance music culture that we represent would not be possible, may not even exist, without black music. After much discussion as to what we can do, not only on a personal level, as a team, MOTORPOOL, with the support of Contact where we host our parties, have decided set up a donation box for “Black Trans Femmes in the Arts” (https://www.instagram.com/btfacollective/ ) at Contact.

Although contributions have become much more accessible with online platforms, we feel that the club environment can shed light on this matter to those not aware of the circumstances that are happening around the world. We hope, by doing so, that this can be a chance for people to become aware of the #BlackLivesMatter movement and “Black Trans Femmes in the Arts” organization, as well as many others.
