dj masdaが世界で展開を始めたALIEN FAMILYがContactで開催
dj masdaは古くは80年代からのテクノ/ハウス/エレクトロ/ブレイクビーツなど隠れた名作を掘り起こし、現在進行形のあらゆるクラブサウンドと鮮やかに組み合わせ、一つの完結したストーリーを組み立てることで確固たる個性を打ち立てているDJの一人だ。2016年にベルリンに拠点を移して以来地道に活動を続け、Panorama Bar、Fabric、Robert Johnson、Closer、Phonothequeなどの著名なクラブはもちろん、世界各地のアンダーグラウンドクラブのあらゆるクラブイベントに出演、毎週末世界5大陸のどこかのクラブでそのオリジナリティ溢れるセットを披露している。ALIEN FAMILYはそのdj masdaが厳選した同じ価値観を共有するDJを招集して開催するイベントで、これまでベルリン/ソフィア/トビリシにて開催されている。
DJとしての活動のほか、自身がSo Inagawaと共にレーベルオーナーを務める〈Cabaret Recordings〉においては、20を超えるカタログナンバーを世に送り出してきた。常にほぼ無名のアーティストをフックアップし、それらアーティストと共にシーンの主要レーベルへと成長した〈Cabaret Recordings〉を運営する手腕からも、ユニークな視点で打ち出される音楽表現がうかがえる。モダンな切り口でミックスされるエレクトロや、躍動する洗練された4つ打ちグルーヴなど、随所にオリジナリティを織り交ぜたmasdaのセットを今回のALIEN FAMILYで体験してみてほしい。

dj masda, who’s played an important role in expanding Alien Family worldwide, hosts a night at Contact
dj masda has been diggin’ techno, house, electro, breakbeats and everything in between since the 80’s and mastered the art of storytelling with the ever-evolving club sounds through the records he plays. In 2016, he moved to Berlin to pursue his path as a DJ, and with time and hard work, he earned spot in the scene playing at underground clubs every weekend worldwide such as Panorama Bar, Fabric, Robert Johnson, Closer, and Phonotheque. ALIEN FAMILY is a party where dj masda carefully selects like-minded DJs, and have hosted parties in Berlin, Sofia, and Tbilisi.
Apart from his DJ career, he runs a label, Cabaret Recordings, with So Inagawa. Presenting fresh and vibrant interpretations of the minimal dance music tradition, Cabaret has been established as one of the vital outposts for the scene since first forming in 2013, serving as a vinyl manifestation of masda’s unique sonic style with a catalogue number of ver 20. Whether dabbling in electro rhythms or riding sophisticated, shuffling 4/4 grooves, masda is guaranteed to bring his A game to this ALIEN FAMILY session.
