Conductor returns to Contact with a richly varied line-up of DJs committed to the art of genre-melting fusion. Since Or:la first emerged around 2017, she has swerved simple categorisation by assimilating a broad spectrum of uptempo styles into her own artistic imprint. Her productions have surfaced on Hotflush, another bastion of genre agnostic electronics, as well as via her own Deep Sea Frequency label. However, it’s as a DJ Or:la has become best known, nimbly fusing old and new material with a keen instinct for routes through bassweight UK techno, breakbeat hardcore, Chicago jack tracks, crafty edits and so much more besides. Energy is the common denominator – a commitment to get bodies moving without idling for too long in one place, and that’s exactly what she’ll bring when she takes over the Studio X Floor.

Meanwhile the Contact floor will be swaying to the sounds of Oceanic, the Dutch talent closely affiliated with Amsterdam institution De School and the ever-impressive Nous’klaer Audio label. From his Blanco Bero EP in 2014, J.M. Oberman has consistently surprised and intrigued with a sound that springs from crisp, emotive club tracks to immersive ambient with ease – the perfect companion to the hi-octane energy of the main room.
