UR史上最大のヒットメイカーDJ Roland初登場。
DJ Rolandoと聞くと、大ヒットを記録した”Jaguar”がまず思い浮かぶのではないだろうか？ デトロイトのレーベルUnderground Resistanceで最も売れた曲とされる”Jaguar”は1999年にリリースされるやいなや、ダンスミュージック界を席巻し、Rolandoのキャリアを代表する1曲となったが、その結果、近年まで彼の音楽はメロディを多用したデトロイト的なイメージとして扱われることになった。
しかし、現在、ヨーロッパを拠点に活動する彼はベルリンのBerghainへ定期的に出演するなど新たな方向性を打ち出している。Ostgut Tonから発表した「5 To 9 EP」ではじわじわと展開するヒプノティックなハーフステップ・トラックで、自らのポテンシャルと音楽性の幅をうかがわせ、2014年に立ち上げたレーベルR3ではMarcel DettmannやBen Simsらをフィーチャーしながら、デトロイトの影響とヨーロッパのモダンなテクノを組み合わせた作品を発表している。
この夜はそうした彼の音楽性に呼応するべく、Transmat唯一の日本人アーティストHiroshi Watanabeと、Len FakiのレーベルFigureから発表した重厚低音テクノトラックで評価を獲得してきたA. Mochiが参加！ さらにベテランDJ Wadaの出演も決定！ デトロイトのイメージを刷新する刺激的な一夜に期待が高まる。

You could be forgiven for associating DJ Rolando with “Jaguar,” the biggest-selling track that Underground Resistance in Detroit has ever released. It swept the dance music scene around the turn of the millennium and became such an iconic tune that the Motor City native has hardly shaken off its Detroit-tinged, melodic image until recent years.
Now based in Europe, he found his place in another realm of dance music, making regular appearances at Berghain, putting out 5 To 9 EP for the club’s in-house label Ostgut Ton: The EP suggested his potential and stylistic breadth with a hypnotic half step slow-burner. His label R3, launched in 2014, has combined the Detroit legacy with modern European takes on techno, featuring Marcel Dettmann and Ben Sims.
Just like Rolando’s music spectrum, Contact features Transmat’s lone Japanese artist Hiroshi Watanabe alongside A. Mochi, a Tokyo-based producer that has made his name through bass-heavy creations for Len Faki’s Figure label. Veteran DJ Wada also steps in to heighten expectations for an inspiring night that will update your image of the Motor City sound.
