自由な感性で音楽を追求する夜
60年代後半ジャマイカに始まるダブによる歪みや響き、重なりの自由を解放する運動は全世界に広がり、スタイルを変えながらここ日本でも根強い人気を誇っている。8月に開催して好評を得たダブのイベント第2回を緊急開催することが決まった。
今回Studioフロアには、THA BLUE HERBの全トラックメイクを手掛け、その手ひとつで独自のサウンドを展開し続けているO.N.Oがダブセットを披露する他、今年25周年を迎えた日本唯一のロングランパーティ「Zettai-Mu」を主宰するKuranaka a.k.a 1945、新宿OpenでのJoy Ride、吉祥寺cheekyでのFormationを主宰するOG、UKベースミュージック/レフトフィールドを主軸としつつ、様々な色を織り込んでいくミックススタイルが特徴のFelineが、それぞれの解釈でダブセットをプレイする。後日アナウンスされるゲストにも期待して欲しい。そしてContactフロアでは、クロアチアで開催される世界最大級のベース・ミュージックの祭典Outlook Festivalの常連でもあるPARTY2STYLEのMaLが前回に続き登場。新宿の老舗レゲエ／ダブクラブOpenの”校長” 工藤 BigH 晴康、Mighty Crownのセレクターの一人で、ニュールーツ／ダブのレーベル〈SCORCHER HI FI〉のプロデュースも手掛ける選曲家Cojieを迎え、TOKYO No.1 SOUL SETの屋台骨を支えるトラックメイカーでもある川辺ヒロシもダブセットにて出演する。音楽の自由がもたらしたダブという巨大な産物を今回も様々な視点から楽しんでほしい。
Pursuit of music with the sense of freedom
Dub originated in the late 60’s in Jamaica using effects to reinvent the sound of roots reggae. The liberating style spread throughout the world and has also found its place here in Japan. Following up their first edition back in August, they’re back by popular demand for their 2nd installment.
Track-maker for the infamous group THA BLUE HERB and known for his distinct sound, O.N.O will be performing a Dub set in Studio X for this occasion. Kuranaka a.k.a. 1945, organizer of the long-running party「Zettai-Mu」which celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, and OG, who hosts Joy Ride at Shinjuku Open as well as Formation at cheeky in Kichijoji, takes the stage. Feline, the UK Bass Music/Leftfield aficionado with a mixing style that incorporates various colors, joins the team in the main room for the liberating Dub set performances. Also, keep a look out for the secret guest for the evening which will be announced soon.
Leading the pack in the Contact floor is MaL from PARTY2STYLE, a prominent figure who is a regular at Outlook Festival in Croatia, the world’s biggest Bass Music festival. From the long standing Reggae/Dub club Open in Shinjuku we have ”校長” 工藤 BigH 晴康 (Headmaster Haruyasu Kudo), selector Cojie, one of the selectors for Mighty Crown and the producer of the New School/Dub label〈SCORCHER HI FI〉, and a Dub set by Hiroshi Kawabe who’s been the backbone for the TOKYO No.1 SOUL SET.
