Phillip Sollmann’s presence in modern techno is a reassuring constant. As Efdemin, he’s released numerous solo pieces, collaborated in both techno and avant-garde realms, held down a decade-long residency at Berghain and done much more besides. Released in early 2019, his fourth solo album New Atlantis perfectly encapsulated his work to date, both steeped in the melancholic melodious aspects of his most affecting dancefloor productions, while also embracing the more experimental aspects of recent electro-acoustic experiments. Now Sollmann is coming to Contact to celebrate the release of this stunning release, supported on the Studio X Floor by The Labyrinth resident So and Fadi Mohem from WERK Records in Berlin.

Meanwhile, the Contact floor is headed up by none other than Rabih Beaini. Formerly known as Morphosis, Beaini has carved a distinct, challenging and profound path through electronic, experimental and acoustic music that few can match. Drawing on sonic traditions that nod to his Lebanese roots and fusing them with Western avant-garde sensibilities, his continued explorations make this night a must-see experience. Beaini will be backed up by a varied selection of artists operating in equally interesting fields, most notably YPY from birdfriend and EM Records, whose cassette-powered manipulations leave a lasting impression.
