The L.I.E.S. label boss brings raw underground vibes to Contact

Following appearances by Magda and Rødhåd, Finest Articles returns for a third installment featuring another key figure pushing the electronic underground forward.

Ron Morelli has been a hugely influential figure in the contemporary machine music landscape since his record label L.I.E.S. (Long Island Electrical Systems) bowled into the scene in 2010. With an instinct for interesting, eclectic electronic sounds bound together by a shared spirit of lo-fi adventure, Morelli has built his label up to be one of the most trusted stamps of quality in current operation.

As an artist, Morelli operates as an extension of the grubby L.I.E.S. aesthetic. His music has found a home on the like-minded Hospital Productions (run by Vatican Shadow), while collaborations have taken place with the likes of Svengalisghost, Willie Burns and Steve Summers amongst others.

His DJ selections revel in deviant dancefloor sounds where distortion, noise and a punk attitude collide with a foundation of tough, NYC-rooted grooves across the spectrum from minimal wave to house and techno.

Joining Morelli on the Studio X Floor will be DJ Nozaki, who has recently been stirring up the record bags of the brave with wildcard releases on L.I.E.S. and Unknown To The Unknown under his ZZZ alias.
