没入感の美学と予測不可能なグルーヴの均衡
Romy MatsとVJ Camelが中心となり、世界中の多様な電子音楽を独自の観点でキュレーションする“解体新書”。今回は、身体を揺らすことへの没入感に溢れたライヴ・アーティストを軸にしたStudio Xと、幅広いセレクトと意表を突くミックスで特異なグルーヴを作るDJが集うContactフロアと、クラブにおける愉しみの二面が並行する一夜となる。
Studio Xには、Moritz von Oswaldが回顧的なサウンドで構成した最新ソロライヴで登場する。音の焦点となるのは、彼の数多ある功績の中でも未だ厚く称賛されるBasic ChannelやRhythm & Sound、Maurizioといったユニットプロジェクト、そしてレーベル〈Chain Reaction〉など、90年代以降の電子音楽の発展において極めて重要な音楽となった“ダブテクノ”。音の混成化がスタンダードになってもなお、テクノ～ミニマル～ダブの文脈の中でのBasic Channelの影響は計り知れないが、Moritz von Oswald Trio、Juan AtkinsとのBORDERLAND、キルギスの民族音楽グループOrdo Sakhnaとのコラボを経て、再び彼の手で鳴らされる“ダブテクノ”がいかなるものかには期待が高まる。共演には、今年10月にエクスペリメンタル・テクノ～ダーク・アンビエントを主導する〈Horo〉から、心酔に尽きる音像を納めた2つのEP「Retrocausality: A Priori / A Posteriori」をリリースしたLemnaのライヴセットや、主宰レーベル〈Prowler〉の設立とデビューEPと共にカムバックを果たした太く深く強靭なDJのKEIHINなどをフィーチャーする。
Contactフロアには、3月に〈!K7〉のDJミックスシリーズ「DJ-Kicks」を手掛けたLaurel Haloを迎える。陶酔的なパートから推進力あるテクノとベースのハイブリッド・ミックスで捲り、ゴムやトライバルベースなど多彩なドラムパターンでスリリングに魅せながら、妙に説得力のあるDJは体感必須。ローカルからは、NTS Radioでの『From Sun City』と題した自由度の高いプログラムを通じて沖縄から世界に鮮烈な印象を与え続けているKIRAYAMAや、音楽的な吸収力と想像力に長けた東京シーンの最新鋭DJコレクティヴCongress DanceのRyoとcrazysaltがB2Bセットで登場する。
The balance of immersive aesthetics and unpredictable grooves
Curated by Romy Mats and VJ Camel, 解体新書 (Kaitai-Shinsho), the party focuses on various electronic music from around the world from their own unique perspective. This edition dives deeper into an immersive journey provided by live artists performing in Studio X, and a groovier atmosphere created by DJs in the Contact floor making a great contrast for the evening.
In Studio X, Moritz von Oswald is scheduled to perform a new solo live set constructed with sounds that are more retrospective. Known for his projects such as Basic Channel, Rhythm & Sound, Maurizio, and his label Chain Reaction, he played an important role from the late 90’s in creating what we now call “dub techno”. Not only as Basic Channel, Moritz von Oswald Trio, BORDERLAND with Juan Atkins, and collaboration work with Kyrgyzstan group Ordo Sakhna have influenced standards of techno/minimal/dub. He returns with a highly anticipated “dub techno” set. Supporting the headliner is a live act, Lemna, who has released 2 EPs「Retrocausality: A Priori / A Posteriori」in October of this year from the dark.
