The intersection of balance and the terminus of electronic music

Focused on cutting-edge electronic music, Romy MatsandVJ Camel’s party Kaitaishinso returns to Contact after a 11 month hiatus.
Studio X features ∈Y∋ (Yamantaka Eye) from BOREDOMS. In January ~ February of this year, he held the exhibition LAG-ED with the theme “afterimage”. In August, he performed at FUJI ROCK as the audio visual project FINALBY( ) that took on a whole new approach. The man who has been unceasingly stimulating the scene for the past 40 years with his unpredictable performances and works will be making a club appearance for the first time in a long while.
YPY is the solo project of the contemporary musician Hino Koshiro, who is gaining even more attention after the film work「戦慄せしめよ / Shiver」 directed by Toshiaki Toyoda, in which he collaborated with Kodo, a taiko performing arts group. In 2019, he released「Be a Little More Selfish」as well as his concert piece「GEIST」. He’ll be joined this evening by his concert cellist Yuki Nakagawa, to perform in Tokyo for the first time as a duo. A chamber of leftfield electronics that will reconstruct grooves, providing a completely new feeling and sensation that you’ll be able to appreciate.
Saskia, a sound artist who released an EP from Kaitaishinsho’s label〈KTSNS〉that launched in June, will be performing live with a whole new setup. DJs Mars89 and ASTMA, two entrusted figures by Kaitaishinsho, will be joining the lineup. Mars89 presented a new VR experience production this year from〈Bokeh Version〉and was also in charge of the music for the latest men’s collection of〈Undercover〉, and ASTMA is an up-and-comer quickly on the rise with more gigs in Tokyo.
In contrast to Studio X, Contact floor focuses on the slow and gravitating art of storytelling featuring the first Kaitaishinsho appearance by Erik Luebs. Luebs releases 1 track every month on his Bandcamp for his series「Cycle」, and will spin dance grooves with his own diverse sound palette that he has gained as a producer.
And, 3 DJs who have created highlights in previous parties make their long-awaited Kaitaishinsho comeback. AKIRAM EN is a DJ you can trust to deliver strong grooves that are sharply selected, and let you surrender yourself to the beat of his drum. Akie is a buyer for Kansai’s infamous「Newtone Records」with experience and sensibilities. K8, a member of the DJ crew TYO GQOM which focuses on modern African electronic music, is a promising DJ in the UK Bass/Techno field. The opening set will be performed by Kentaro, hailing from Kumamoto known for leading the local community with his party「EVEN」honing his skills in Tokyo where he is currently based, making his first appearance.
