A true techno legend returns to Tribe.

Nearly two years after he was last present in Japan, Laurent Garnier makes a welcome return to Contact. As one of the leading lights of techno in the 1990s, the French DJ and producer has remained at the forefront of techno culture thanks to an infinite passion for the music, and a deep understanding of the original principles laid out by the Detroit pioneers. Building on the many projects he has undertaken over the past thirty or so years, in more recent times he has been aligned with the vanguard of house and techno culture, releasing on labels such as MCDE, Hypercolour, Still Music and 50Weapons. Last year’s Tribute EP on Kompakt was his latest transmission.

Alongside a masterclass from a true leader in his field, the Studio X floor will also feature a set from Gonno, one of the brightest talents in the Japanese house and techno scene with acclaimed releases on Endless Flight, Ostgut Ton, Beats In Space, and Acidise #2 that Garnier himself was a big supporter of.

Keeping things close knit across the club, the Contact floor welcomes the mastermind of the infamous Parisian label Ed Banger Records, Busy P. Having released Garnier’s music in the past as well as the likes of Justice, SebastiAn, Cassius and many more, Busy P will bring the wild and unpredictable party sound of his label to the club.
