ベルリン・テクノとロンドン・ベースの血脈が高次元に混ざり合うバックストリートな「裏テクノ」
4年ぶりの来日となるテクノ界の異能Shedと初来日となる現行UKベースのダークホースMoscaを迎えた地下レイヴ最前線。
90年代UKハードコアテクノ、ジャングル、ドラムンベース、ハードハウスといったベルリンのプロデューサーでは異例の背景を持ちながら、Ben Klockと並びBargain / Panorama Barを舞台に次世代のテクノを世界に知らしめたシーンの異能Shed (aka Head High / EQD)が、Labyrinth以来となる4年ぶりの来日。それに合わせ、デビュー当初にはNight SlugsやNumbersからのUKファンキー／ガラージで鮮やかにヒットを連発、最新作はDixonとAmeのInnervisionsからリリースしたロンドンのMoscaが初来日。Moscaはここ数年でShedのルーツへと通じるオールド～ミドルスクールなUKレイヴ、テクノ、ハウスに傾倒しながらトライバルやエレクトロニクスなど、辺境的なスタイルも取り入れた独自のモダンなミックスセンスとトラックメイクへと深化、UKベースからテクノへと向かうダークホース的存在。両雄に共通するエネルギッシュな90年代ロウ・マナーのタフでラフなサウンドとグルーヴは、レゲエの流入から始まるUKサウンドシステムカルチャーを根底としたベースミュージック、ドイツに脈々と受け継がれるマシーンフェティッシュなテクノミュージック、そしてUSブラックカルチャーから生まれたシカゴ、ニューヨーク、デトロイトといったハウスミュージックなど、ストリート=現場で育まれたクラブオーセンティックなダンスミュージックの混合とクラブ本来の多様性であり、インターネット以降の小空間に収まる10年代ロウとは一線を画す、巨大なウェアハウスの空間をならすレイヴミュージックを受け継いでいる。国内の共演にはストリートなクラブサウンドをいち早く展開して来た1-DrinkとToby Feltwell (C.E)、NYCからハウスDJ Keith Edward、ルーディーなベースサウンドで攻め上げるDJ RS (Blink Music)、インディのオルタナティブなカルチャーから新世代のテクノ／ハウスを発信するJR Chaparro、ソリッドなテクノへ深化するテンテンコ、東京の電子コレクティブIN HAを率いるMari Sakurai、そしてホストのasyl cahier (LSI Dream)など、ファッション、レーベル、流通、様々なパーティーに関わりながら東京地下を賑わす新手／若手の面々が集結。UK特有の折衷スタイルを受け継ぎ、現代のテクノ／ハウスにおけるオールジャンルの感性とは何かを体現する地下レイヴナイト。

Shed aka Head High returns to Japan for the first time since the 2012 Labyrinth festival. As a Berlin producer with an unusual musical background of UK hardcore techno and drum & bass, he has been sending out the sound of the scene’s next generation from Berghain and Panorama Bar alongside Ben Klock. He is joined by Mosca, who makes his Japan debut. The Londoner has dropped a splendid array of UK funky and garage for Night Slugs and Numbers since his debut right up to his latest for Dixon and Ame’s Innervisions. Recent years have seen him leaning to retrospective UK rave, techno and house akin to Shed’s roots and combining them with alien sounds to form his own modern DJing style. With various distinctive musical heritage, the two Europeans are going to demonstrate the diversity and cross-pollination of streetwise dance music like British bass that dates back to reggae’s arrival at the country, Germany’s legacy of machine-like techno and house of Chicago, NYC and Detroit originated by the black American culture. Informed about the UK’s eclectic quality, the underground all-night rave embodies a comprehensive approach to modern techno and house.
