MOTORPOOL feat. BORIS

Berghainの要人がもたらす熱狂

MOTORPOOLは強力なブッキングポリシーのもと、同じ価値観を持つ才能/個性豊かなアクトを世界のダンスミュージックシーンから招きながらLGBTQやその文化を謳歌する、Contact筆頭のジェンダーフリーパーティだ。

今回もMOTORPOOLにぴったりのゲストが決定した。数々の伝説を残しているベルリンの音楽シーンやテクノ巡礼地Berghainで中心的存在として活動しているBorisだ。彼はBerghainの前身であるクラブOstgutでレジデントを務める以前、Paradise Garageで全盛期のLarry Levanを体験しながら新たなムーブメントにどっぷりとその身を浸していた経歴を持っている。クラブカルチャーの礎となった時代を知る熟練のDJであるだけに、Studio Xフロアのブースでも、ディスコ/ニューウェーブ/ハイエナジー、そしてテクノをつうじて広範なスタイルを深くカバーしてくれるだろう。

一方、今回はMOTORPOOLのレジデントを少しアレンジ。DSKEがContactフロアを、そしてPUNKADELIXがStudio Xフロアを担当する。いつもとは違う変化をつけたことで、一夜の流れがユニークにうごめいていく。その刺激的な模様を知りたいならば、ぜひともフロアでMOTORPOOLを体験してみてほしい。

A Berghain staple brings the heat to the pool

Motorpool is Contact’s flagship gender-mixed party, celebrating LGBTQ+ culture with a strong booking policy that taps into the global dance music scene to find the DJs and performers with talent and originality to match their shared values.

Boris is a natural fit for Motorpool – the Berlin-based DJ has been a lynchpin of the city’s fabled music scene, and of course its unofficial temple, Berghain, for many years. In fact, he was a resident at the original Ostgut location, which came some years after he first immersed himself in club culture going to the Paradise Garage and witnessing Larry Levan in his prime. Such foundations are what club culture is built on, and you can expect this learned selector to be reaching deep and wide through his taste for disco, new wave and Hi-NRG as much as techno when he takes over the Studio X Floor.

In support, the usual script at Motorpool will be flipped on the night as residents Punkadelix and DSKE swap their roles, with the former stepping up to the Studio X Floor and DSKE playing in Contact. It’s a subtle change that has the potential to brew up a unique energy in the flow of the party – the only way to know for sure is to be there and feel it happening.
