Celebrate the spooky season with a monster session spanning the whole of Contact

The Sabishinbo Halloween special sees Contact being used to its full potential with a rich and varied line-up spanning techno legends and vital upstarts from all corners of the dance music spectrum.

On the Studio X floor, you can catch two undisputed titans of house and techno in Japan, DJ Emma and Ken Ishii. Emma certified himself as a leading light in the mid 90s with a run of essential mix albums that continued into the next decade, while Ishii produced widely celebrated techno for R&S amongst other labels.

Meanwhile the Contact floor and Foyer will be taken over by Motorpool and Buttons, two of the most inclusive parties in Tokyo and Berlin respectively. This natural meeting of minds will result in a wild and flamboyant event featuring key residents from both parties, including Buttons’ Jacob Meehan and Shingo Suwa, and Motorpool’s DSKE and Mayudepth.

In addition to the music on offer – an artfully pitched spread of house, disco, techno and other less travelled sounds – the event will also feature LGBTQ+ artists and drag queens from Shinjuku Ni-chome, the heart of the Tokyo gay scene, all feeding into the spirit of the season with Halloween-themed performances.
