星と砂漠が織りなす異世界
Contactに満を持して帰還する今回のTerminus.第3弾。「砂漠」というテーマを冠したStudioフロアでは、イタリアの新鋭テクノアーティストManuele ChiaravallotiことMod21の初来日公演を実現する。PrologueやSemanticaといった重要レーベルからリリースしている作品は、Mike Parker、Silent Servant、Svreca等から既に大きなサポートを受けている。Manueleのトリッピーでディープなサウンドは、今後確実にテクノシーンで脚光を浴びることになるだろう。 またもう1人のゲストアクトとして、ローカルヒーローDJ Nobuを約1年振りに迎える。彼は今年9月、長年出演が待ち望まれていた世界最高峰のフェスティバルThe Labyrinthでデビューを果たしたばかり。Donato Dozzyのクロージングセットの前に、ブロークンビーツやレフトフィールドなアンビエントテクノを織り交ぜた強力なセットを披露した。国内で長年活動してきた彼は、ここ数年で Berghain / Panorama Bar（ベルリン）、Concrete（パリ）、Dekmantel Festival（アムステルダム）といったヨーロッパトップクラスのヴェニューやフェスティバルの常連となった。コンテンポラリーダンスミュージックの世界において、彼が自身の立ち位置を確実なものにしたことは間違いない。 そして両雄の出演する強烈な「砂漠のフロア」とのバランスを取るべく、もう一方のContactフロアでは、「星」というテーマの元、1990 年代のアンビエントを主軸とした空間を用意する。東京拠点のアンビエント／実験音楽家Ametsubをはじめ、The Labyrinth のレジデントHiyoshi、テイストメーカーChris SSGが出演。更にはSpectrum Spoolsからのリリースで知られるUSのエクスペリメンタリストMatthew MullaneことFabricがゲストとして登場し、ライブセットを披露する。また、キャンドル・インスタレーションやクッション、フリーサービスのシーシャも供され、サウンドとともに空間を創り上げる。多面的に演出された極上の癒しを楽しんでほしい。
Parallel universe made by stars and desert
Volume three of the terminus. series heads back to Contact this November, and invites rising Italian techno luminary Manuele Chiaravalloti aka Mod21 to his inaugural outing in Tokyo. It will be the first time for him to step into a booth in Japan, marking it as a milestone and statement of intent directed at the local electronic music circuit.
With sublime releases on revered monikers Prologue and Semantica Records under his belt – and full support from leading acts such as Mike Parker, Silent Servant and Svreca – Manuele’s trippy, deep and immersive sound is set for techno stardom.
terminus. also proudly welcomes back local hero DJ Nobu. Nobu is fresh off of his long-anticipated debut set at world-renowned Labyrinth 2016, where he laid down a blissfully tempered mix of broken beats and leftfield ambient techno before Donato Dozzy closed the festival. A long-established don of the local scene, in recent years Nobu has become a regular at Europe’s finest venues and festivals, including Berghain/Panorama Bar (Berlin), Concrete (Paris) and Dekmantel Festival (Amsterdam). There is no doubt that Nobu has cemented a place for himself in the world of contemporary dance music.
For this event only, terminus. will bring back the 1990s ambient room to balance the intensity of the main floor. Soothing sounds will be provided by ambient and experimental trailblazer Ametsub and Labyrinth resident Hiyoshi, as well as local tastemaker Chris SSG and a guest live set from guitarist-turned-electronic experimentalist Matthew Mullane aka Fabric of Spectrum Spools.
Enjoy the healing sounds of the ambient room amid a special candle installation, plush cushions and some complimentary shisha (provided by Shisha Shimokitazawa).
