今年1月に、PrinceとMichael Jacksonのトリビュート・イベントで感動をくれたDJ SPINNAが、新たに18周年を迎えたStevie Wonderへのセレブレーション・パーティを開催!!
1999年ニューヨークで始まり、今では、全米主要都市、ヨーロッパ諸国、アジアの国々と世界中で開催されるStevie Wonderをトリビュートしたイベント、WONDER-Full™。Stevieのバースデーセレブレーションと共に行われるこのパーティで、Stevie自身の曲はもちろん、Spinnaが掘り当てたレアなコレクションからファンキーなカバーソングも聴かせてくれる。以降WONDER-Full™は、毎年5月にニューヨークで行われる恒例イベントとなった。2007年11月、Stevie Wonderニューヨーク公演のアフターパーティとして行われたWONDER-Full™に、”Isn’t See Lovey”で知られる娘Aisha Morrisの支援で、Stevie本人がパーティに出演し、参加したファンへ感謝の意を込めスピーチと共にパフォーマンスを披露してくれた。そのStevieの登場という衝撃的な出来事は、今もなおニューヨークのミュージック・ラヴァーの記憶に深く刻まれている。そして今年14年振りに東京でもWONDER-Full™が開催される。

In 1999, Stevie Wonder’s tribute party “WONDER-Full™” started in New York and has spread worldwide. Also celebrating Stevie’s birthday, Spinna will be playing his rare collection of funky cover songs, as well as Stevie Wonder’s tunes. WONDER-Full™ has now become New York’s annual party held May. In November of 2007, during an after party of Stevie Wonder’s concert, Stevie himself appeared at WONDER-Full™, with the support from Stevie’s daughter Aisha Morris, to give a speech and a performance for his beloved fans. This will be the first time in 14 years that WONDER-Full™ will be held in Tokyo.
