A gathering of those who continue to challenge themselves

François K. has played an innovative role in dance music, and has performed for Contact’s pivotal moments such as the opening party and for the countdown.  Having lived through the heydays of Paradise Garage and Studio 54 in New York during the 80s, he went on to give birth to Body&SOUL and his label WAVE, continuing to challenging himself, and now we welcome his long-awaited comeback at Contact.  Sharing the stage is label mate Toshiyuki Goto, a legend in his own right who has played alongside François on many occasions.  Since the days of Nishiazabu Yellow, they both have played significant roles in bridging Tokyo and New York to this day, and will be presenting us with luscious evergreen music.

Contact side features artists that have transcended genres, providing a space and theme reminiscent of François K.’s dub party <DEEP SPACE>.  Mystica Tribe, a digital dub project by Tokyo-based Taka Noda whose dubwise sounds have resonated with DJ Sotofett, will be performing live.  Hailing from Osaka, we have YAMA, a buyer for Newtone Records whose selections from his massive library has been praised by many artists.  Torei, the founder of the label <Set Fire To Me>, will be playing a wide range of house and dub.  Finally, we have Mizuki of No Nations, a crew that crosses over jazz and dance, with her danceable selections.  A lineup that can be said to be the answer to DEEP SPACE from Japan in 2022.
